In order to assure reliable performance of any air purification system, it is imperative to minimize the introduction of contaminated outdoor air, while simultaneously maintaining a slight positive pressure.
A controlled atmosphere depends on capturing and containing contaminated air. It is assumed that the major source of contamination is the outdoor air. It is also assumed that there are internal sources of contamination: the operators themselves (e.g., off-gassing from clothing).
Strict adherence to the following requirements will allow the installed air cleaning systems to effectively and economically safeguard critical electrical and electronic equipment contained within the protected enviroment.
